Genocide Survivors Find Joy in Supporting Each Other

Fardoz fled Sinjar over nine years ago during the Yezidi Genocide. Echoing the sentiments of many internally displaced Yezidis, Fardoz reflects on the difficulties of living in a makeshift house without adequate services for so many years.

Yet, Fardoz finds joy in working with her “second family” at FYF’s Sugar is Sweet Bakery and Cafe. Sugar is Sweet is a refuge where she delights in her work and time spent with other Yezidi women, while earning a sustainable income to support her family.

Support our work!

FYF works to support the most vulnerable members of the Yezidi community by providing them with education, economic empowerment, post-trauma treatment, and access to justice. If you want your donations to have a real impact on the lives of women and children affected by conflict, please consider giving to FYF today.
