Providing trauma treatment is among the most important aspects of FYF’s work. FYF’s trauma program began with funding from UN Women’s Trust Fund to End Violence Against Women. Through that program, hundreds of Yezidi women received direct care and several thousand Yezidi men, women, and children received group care and basic information on stress management, coping strategies, and breathing exercises. FYF currently operates the trauma program with a battery of international psychologists, local translators and managers, and dozens of ‘Harikara’ (helpers).
