FYF applauds enormous contribution of departing country coordinator Zazi Ibrahim

Zazi Ibrahim and IDP camp residents

FYF country coordinator Zazi Ibrahim is departing after nearly a year and a half of leadership service. Zazi has been the cornerstone of the Free Yezidi Foundation in Duhok. In coordination with FYF leadership and the board, Zazi was responsible for establishing the women’s center and children’s center in Khanke camp, for all in-country management and administration, and for ensuring the daily delivery of services to beneficiaries. She overcame the many challenges that face small, women-led, minority-led organisations with grace, dexterity, and determination.

Through her hard work and genuine care for camp residents, Zazi made a tremendous contribution to the Free Yezidi Foundation and to the Yezidi community as a whole. As an educated, intelligent, caring, hardworking Yezidi woman, Zazi served as both a role model to Yezidi women and girls and a key leader for the Free Yezidi Foundation. Although Zazi cannot be replaced, FYF has brought on and promoted staff members to ensure that the Foundation continues its activities. FYF will continue to build on the success that Zazi and fellow FYF staff members have achieved in Duhok.

Zazi’s legacy with the Free Yezidi Foundation will remain deeply embedded in the centers in Khanke and with beneficiaries, friends, and colleagues. FYF will miss her presence, and we wish her success and happiness in her future endeavours.
